Объединение индейских племен сок [Sauk] и фокс [Fox], слившихся в одно племя в 1830-е. Ныне в племени примерно 4,5 тыс. (1990) индейцев, проживающих на месте бывшей резервации в центральной Оклахоме, где им принадлежит 73 кв. км земель, и в резервациях Сок-энд-Фокс (в Айове и на границе Канзаса и Небраски).
